Prof. Dr. Ümit Murat ŞAHINER

Prof. Dr. Ümit Murat ŞAHINER was born in Kırıkkale in 1970. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kırıkkale, attended Kayseri Science High School between 1985 and 1988, and studied at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, English Program, from 1988 to 1995. Between 1996 and 2002, he completed his residency in Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, İhsan Doğramacı Children’s Hospital. In 2012, he completed his subspecialty training in Pediatric Immunology and Allergy Diseases at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He became an Associate Professor in 2013 and was promoted to Professor in 2019.

From 2012 to 2014, he fulfilled his compulsory service in Kayseri, where he established and developed the Pediatric Allergy Clinic at the Education and Research Hospital. In 2014, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şahiner returned to Hacettepe University. His allergy specialization was also accredited in 2018 by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI).

Dr. Şahiner also serves as a reviewer for national and international scientific journals. As of the end of December 2024, he has 152 international publications, 1 national book editorship, 5 international book chapters, and numerous national book chapters. His citation counts are approximately 6,000 in SCOPUS, 5,500 in Web of Science, and 10,000 in Google Scholar.

At EAACI congresses, he has received awards for oral and poster presentations, served as a session chair, and delivered invited lectures. Prof. Dr. Şahiner is currently the President of the Turkish National Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
